Updated: Jul 16, 2019

If you are waiting for someone to travel with you.... you may end up waiting a life time!

1. Cayman Islands

Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort

The Cayman Islands will forever be my favorite Caribbean Solo Travel Destination, because it was a solo trip by default. I booked on Wednesday and flew out on Friday. None of my friends were available on such short notice. It was the scariest, most liberating, life changing experience of my life.

I gravitated to the crystal blue/green water to snorkel, scuba dive, paddleboard, and the unforgettable experience of "Swimming with Sting Rays."

Cayman crime is low. I felt safe walking on the strip of Seven Mile, laying out on the beach, and exploring the island to indulge in local dishes.

Pay attention to your surroundings as you would in any destination. Resorts could give a false sense of security.

Key Tip: Rent a Car.. There is so much to see and do!

Greedy Tip: Try the Fried Snapper at Eastern Star Bar and Fish Fry *Thank me later*

2. Dubai

The Desert City was my first time taking advantage of an extended layover (36 hrs). Dubai airports designate pink taxis for women and red taxis for men. The taxi process gave me a sense of security knowing that a woman was transporting me during my solo travel.

The city follows the Islamic religion, which should be respected by all visitors. Sensible attire should be observed by both men and women.

Key Tip: Book a Desert Safari Tour with a Camel Ride, ATV, BBQ Dinner, Sandboarding, and Dune Bashing

Greedy Tip: Butter Chicken Masala at Ravi's Restaurant

3. Switzerland

Who hasn't dreamt of waking up to mountainous views, swans swimming in the lake, and the smell of the chocolate from one of the many chocolatiers in Switzerland?

My experience in Switzerland was quiet, peaceful, and made me eager to come back for a more extended vacation. I had the pleasure of visiting both Zurich and Lucerne, but Lucerne captured my heart.

Key Tip: Take the train from Zurich to Lucerne and spend at least 2 nights on the countryside.

Greedy Tip: Laderach Chocolatier
